Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NSMCE4A mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated NSMCE4A data layer compared with 21 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), where higher NSMCE4A mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated NSMCE4A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LSCC and CCRCC show a favorable association.

LSCC, CCRCC, and HNSC are the cancer types where NSMCE4A mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
