Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NPY5R RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NPY5R’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where NPY5R RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NPY5R is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KICH, and THCA are the cancer types where NPY5R tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
