Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NPR2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NPR2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where NPR2 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NPR2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, LUAD, and THCA are the cancer types where NPR2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
