Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NPM1P21 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NPM1P21’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where NPM1P21 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NPM1P21 is over-expressed in tumor.
KIRC, HNSC, and COAD are the cancer types where NPM1P21 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
