Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NOP9 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NOP9’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where NOP9 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NOP9 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
STAD, LIHC, and HNSC are the cancer types where NOP9 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
