Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NKX2-2 RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated NKX2-2 data layer compared with 4 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher NKX2-2 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated NKX2-2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PAAD and LUAD show a favorable association.

KIRP, SKCM, and UVM are the cancer types where NKX2-2 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
