Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NIT2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NIT2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where NIT2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NIT2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, COAD, and KIRC are the cancer types where NIT2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
