Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NF2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NF2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where NF2 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NF2 is over-expressed in tumor.
LIHC, COAD, and HNSC are the cancer types where NF2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
