Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NF1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 29 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated NF1 data layer compared with 11 for mutation status and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher NF1 RNA is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated NF1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRC and LGG show a favorable association.
KIRC, MESO, and UVM are the cancer types where NF1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
