Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NDUFB6 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NDUFB6’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where NDUFB6 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NDUFB6 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, THCA, and BRCA are the cancer types where NDUFB6 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
