Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NCKAP5L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NCKAP5L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where NCKAP5L RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NCKAP5L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, HNSC, and COAD are the cancer types where NCKAP5L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
