Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NCF1B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 8 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NCF1B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where NCF1B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NCF1B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, KIRC, and LUSC are the cancer types where NCF1B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
