Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, NCBP2L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of NCBP2L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where NCBP2L RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types NCBP2L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUSC, KICH, and BRCA are the cancer types where NCBP2L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
