Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MYO7A mass-spec protein differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 2 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MYO7A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where MYO7A mass-spec protein is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MYO7A is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as CCRCC and PDAC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
CCRCC and PDAC are the cancer types where MYO7A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
