Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MYC Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MYC data layer compared with 25 for mass-spec protein and 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher MYC Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MYC expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as MESO show a favorable association.
HNSC, DLBC, and LIHC are the cancer types where MYC Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
