Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MYB RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MYB’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where MYB RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MYB is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as HNSC and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, STAD, and BRCA are the cancer types where MYB tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
