Across TCGA patient cohorts, MUC4 protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 7,331 significant associations in total. LUAD shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible MUC4-associated genes across cancer lineages are STS, CEACAM5, and MUC5B. Each is linked with MUC4 in more than 3 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both MUC4-to-partner and partner-to-MUC4 results are reported.
