Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MUC2 RNA is linked to patient survival in 20 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MUC2 data layer compared with 10 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where higher MUC2 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MUC2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BLCA and UCS show a favorable association.
LUAD, BLCA, and KIRC are the cancer types where MUC2 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
