Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MUC1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MUC1 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher MUC1 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MUC1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
KIRC and SKCM are the cancer types where MUC1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
