Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTND5P15 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTND5P15’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where MTND5P15 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTND5P15 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, KIRC, and THCA are the cancer types where MTND5P15 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
