Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTND2P24 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTND2P24’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MTND2P24 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTND2P24 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, KICH, and THCA are the cancer types where MTND2P24 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
