MTND1P8

Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTND1P8 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTND1P8’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where MTND1P8 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTND1P8 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, UCEC, and CHOL are the cancer types where MTND1P8 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
