Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTHFSD Mutation is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MTHFSD data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 3 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher MTHFSD Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MTHFSD expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as STAD show a favorable association.
SKCM, LUAD, and STAD are the cancer types where MTHFSD Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
