Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTCYBP15 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTCYBP15’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where MTCYBP15 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTCYBP15 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and ESCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, ESCA, and KIRC are the cancer types where MTCYBP15 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
