Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTCO2P17 RNA is linked to patient survival in 17 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MTCO2P17 data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher MTCO2P17 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MTCO2P17 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCS and GBM show a favorable association.

KIRC, MESO, and LIHC are the cancer types where MTCO2P17 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
