Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTCO1P23 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTCO1P23’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where MTCO1P23 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTCO1P23 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
COAD, KICH, and LUSC are the cancer types where MTCO1P23 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
