Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MTCO1P20 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MTCO1P20’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA), where MTCO1P20 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MTCO1P20 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BRCA, LUSC, and KIRC are the cancer types where MTCO1P20 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
