Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT1L RNA is linked to patient survival in 23 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MT1L data layer compared with 1 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where higher MT1L RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT1L expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and THCA show a favorable association.
LUSC, PAAD, and LGG are the cancer types where MT1L RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
