Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT1B RNA is linked to patient survival in 17 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MT1B data layer compared with 2 for mutation status and 1 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where higher MT1B RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT1B expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CESC and PRAD show a favorable association.

STAD, BLCA, and LGG are the cancer types where MT1B RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
