Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-TM RNA is linked to patient survival in 23 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MT-TM data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in uveal melanoma (UVM), where higher MT-TM RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-TM expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BLCA and LUAD show a favorable association.

UVM, KIRC, and BLCA are the cancer types where MT-TM RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
