Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-ND6 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MT-ND6 data layer compared with 19 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), where higher MT-ND6 mass-spec protein is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-ND6 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC show a favorable association.

GBM and HNSC are the cancer types where MT-ND6 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
