Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-ND4 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 6 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MT-ND4 data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where higher MT-ND4 mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-ND4 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and HNSC show a favorable association.

LUAD, CCRCC, and UCEC are the cancer types where MT-ND4 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
