Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-ND3 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MT-ND3 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma (OV), where higher MT-ND3 mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-ND3 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as OV show a favorable association.

OV, LSCC, and GBM are the cancer types where MT-ND3 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
