Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-ND2 RNA is linked to patient survival in 23 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MT-ND2 data layer compared with 6 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), where higher MT-ND2 RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-ND2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as ACC and KIRP show a favorable association.

ACC, KIRP, and THYM are the cancer types where MT-ND2 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
