Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-CYB RNA is linked to patient survival in 24 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MT-CYB data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), where higher MT-CYB RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-CYB expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as ACC and KIRP show a favorable association.

ACC, KIRP, and PAAD are the cancer types where MT-CYB RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
