Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MT-CO3 RNA is linked to patient survival in 22 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MT-CO3 data layer compared with 7 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM), where higher MT-CO3 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MT-CO3 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PAAD and KICH show a favorable association.

SKCM, PAAD, and KICH are the cancer types where MT-CO3 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
