Across TCGA patient cohorts, MSLN protein abundance is significantly associated with the RNA expression of many other genes, with 15,846 significant associations in total. LSCC shows the largest number of these associations.

The most reproducible MSLN-associated genes across cancer lineages are MSLNL, TRIM29, and UPK3B. Each is linked with MSLN in more than 7 cancer types. Because this analysis shows association rather than direction, both MSLN-to-partner and partner-to-MSLN results are reported.
