Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MSH5 RNA is linked to patient survival in 29 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MSH5 data layer compared with 5 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where higher MSH5 RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MSH5 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCS and READ show a favorable association.

KICH, KIRC, and ACC are the cancer types where MSH5 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
