Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MRPS31P2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MRPS31P2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where MRPS31P2 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MRPS31P2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, HNSC, and KICH are the cancer types where MRPS31P2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
