Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MRPL53 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated MRPL53 data layer compared with 22 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher MRPL53 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MRPL53 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.
HNSC, OV, and LIHC are the cancer types where MRPL53 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
