Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MRPL19 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MRPL19’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where MRPL19 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MRPL19 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, HNSC, and KIRC are the cancer types where MRPL19 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
