Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MRGPRD RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MRGPRD’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where MRGPRD RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MRGPRD is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and STAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, STAD, and COAD are the cancer types where MRGPRD tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
