Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MPRIP RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MPRIP’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where MPRIP RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MPRIP is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LIHC, KICH, and UCEC are the cancer types where MPRIP tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
