Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MMP16 RNA is linked to patient survival in 23 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MMP16 data layer compared with 6 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher MMP16 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MMP16 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM and LGG show a favorable association.

KIRP, UVM, and MESO are the cancer types where MMP16 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
