Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR96 RNA is linked to patient survival in 8 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated MIR96 data layer.
The strongest signal is observed in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), where higher MIR96 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated MIR96 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as LGG show a favorable association.
ESCA, CESC, and COAD are the cancer types where MIR96 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
