Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR6731 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR6731’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where MIR6731 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR6731 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and LUSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
STAD, THCA, and LUSC are the cancer types where MIR6731 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
