Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR5690 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR5690’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MIR5690 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR5690 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as CHOL and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, CHOL, and BRCA are the cancer types where MIR5690 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
