Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR548AO RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR548AO’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MIR548AO RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR548AO is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and BRCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, BRCA, and KIRP are the cancer types where MIR548AO tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
