Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR4797 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR4797’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MIR4797 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR4797 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KICH, and LUSC are the cancer types where MIR4797 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
