MIR4742

Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, MIR4742 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of MIR4742’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where MIR4742 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types MIR4742 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, COAD, and CHOL are the cancer types where MIR4742 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
